Crops We Grow

We are frequently asked by prospective shareholders what crops they should expect to receive in their CSA share. We respond that the name of the game is diversity! We grow over 100 different varieties of vegetables, with the goal of providing you with a weekly harvest of your favorite staples as well as the occasional new and exciting wild card to try. When you purchase a Sweetland CSA share you will be eating with the Vermont seasons, so here are some of the crops you can expect to see in your basket each month:

Can you tell me how your CSA works? Can we come in and buy as much or little of what we want when we want using credit?

Hi Bob
Thanks for your question. The way our CSA works, you sign up for one of our 3 share sizes and then come for a portion of each week’s harvest. You pack your own bag from our members only veggie display. For example, in June you might pack lettuce, scallions, radishes, asparagus, and arugula (in the quantity specified for your share size), while in August you might get eggplant, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, garlic, and summer squash. We do have a “barter table” where members can trade items from their share. Our farm stand is also open year-round if shopping a-la-carte is more your style.
Best
Norah
